考文垂大学（Coventry University）是一所坐落于英国英格兰西米德兰兹郡考文垂的公立研究型大学，为江苏—英国高水平大学联盟成员。

学校前身是成立于1843年的考文垂设计学校，1970年与兰彻斯特理工学校和橄榄球工程技术学校合并更名兰彻斯特理工学院，1987年更名考文垂理工学院，1992年依据《继续教育与高等教育法案》赋予其大学地位，更名考文垂大学，2010年设立伦敦校区，2017年获得教学卓越框架金奖。

2022年9月，英国考文垂大学即将在北京成立的中国区总部（China Hub）将进一步促进大学和中国高校、企业的学术交流和商业合作。

Job description

(Fixed term contract 24 months)

Coventry University and Deakin University Consortium in Motor Skill for Holistic Development.

This post will be part of the Research Centre, Sports, Exercise & Life Sciences (CSELS), at Coventry University and based in the Coventry City Campus. Youth Movement and Behaviour is one of six themes within the Research Centre CSELS.

The theme is transdisciplinary and has wide international collaborations focused on youth movement behaviour and links to holistic development. The researchers use innovative techniques and cutting-edge approaches to solve the population issues around inadequate motor skill development and poor levels of physical activity.

Our work links explicitly into Health, Educational, Cognitive and Sports and Exercise related outcomes and spans disciplines including Sport and Exercise Science, Public Health, Biological Sciences, Systems Science and Education. Our work links to three big picture Sustainable Development Goals of the WHO: 3. Good health and well-being, 9. Industry innovation and infrastructure and 17. Partnerships for the goals.

We are looking to recruit a Postdoc Researcher as part of a collaboration with Deakin University, where they are also recruiting a postdoctoral researcher based in Australia. With a Researcher in both institutions there will be a mobility allowance to spend time at the other institution to help grow and strengthen our consortium.

Led by Prof Mike Duncan (Coventry University) and Prof Lisa Barnett (Deakin University) our multidisciplinary team includes staff from health, arts and education, sport, engineering, and information technology. We have a mix of senior, mid-career and early career researchers and those from quantitative and qualitative paradigms. Our research interests include:

analysing big data to answer important questions in the field of motor development for physical activity

objective automated novel technologies for motor skill measurement that can be used by the end user (e.g., teachers, coaches)

developing instrumentation around physical literacy that can be used by the end user (e.g., teachers, coaches)

complex system science intervention frameworks/evaluations in motor skill development

novel ways to increase children's physical literacy

We also want to hear from you as to how your interests would work with our team.

We are looking for staff from a variety of disciplines with skills in:

Quantitative Data Analysis

Strength and Conditioning

Sports Coaching

Instrumentation Development, both objective and subjective

Implementation Science
