About This Opportunity

Our prestigious School of Psychology is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow to undertake research as part of the “Breaking with the past: Responding to the challenge of identity change” project funded by the Australian Research Council Australian Laureate Scheme. Professor Jolanda Jetten is the Chief Investigator.

The program of research centres on the argument that collective-level change necessarily involves social identity change. While much psychological research to date has focused on individual-level life changes, the way that change at the group, collective or societal level affects individuals in those entities remains poorly understood. The research aims to advance our understanding of identity change by extending this research to the collective level.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

This is a full-time, fixed-term, research focused position for 2 years. This opportunity is being offered at Academic Level A or Level B commensurate with the successful candidate's skills, abilities and experience. Further information can be found by viewing UQ's Criteria for Academic Performance.

At Level A, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $74,308 - $99,426, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $86,941 - $116,329 annually.

At Level B, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $104,579- $124,187, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $122,358 - $145,299 annually.

Visa sponsorship may be available for this appointment.
