Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Research

Job Description

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in Dr. Yi Huang’s lab at the Department of Internal Medicine, Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa. This position will focus on studying the epigenetic roles of histone demethylation in breast cancer development and therapeutic response, aiming to uncover novel mechanisms that contribute to breast cancer tumorigenesis and resistance to treatment.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Biomedical Sciences, with a strong publication record in cancer research and anticancer drug development. A solid foundation in molecular biology and cancer pharmacology is essential, with specific emphasis on techniques such as cell culture, molecular cloning, and the use of animal models. Familiarity with cancer therapeutics and a proven ability to design and execute experiments independently are highly desirable.

The principal investigator's lab is well-supported by NIH funding, providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative research environment. The lab has extensive experience in breast cancer biology and utilizes a broad range of experimental techniques, including genomic and epigenomic analyses, in vivo animal models, and high-throughput screening, to investigate the mechanisms underlying breast cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.
