We are looking for a creative and independent postdoc from the field of bioinformatics to join our dynamic and young team. For more information abour our research group see link:

Duties
The main project will contain mostly the state-of-the-art single cell transcriptomics and classification of cell types in the body based on the individual transcriptomes. Other projects will include comparative genomics with an evolutionary biology perspective. The candidate will run the projects in collaboration with several highly qualified bioinformaticians from different departments of Karolinska Institutet.

Entry requirements
The successful candidate should have a good track record (strong publication list) and previous
experience (accomplished projects).
We expect the candidate to be strong, independent and self-sufficient since the core of our lab are molecular and developmental biologists. We would like to attract someone very enthusiastic about fundamental science, an independent thinker (who will contribute new ideas) interested in solving big biological questions and who aims for an academic future, thus, ambitious and very hard-working. The
ability to work in a team is required and a friendly spirit is a necessity.

We promise a young enthusiastic competent team and many interesting projects related to elaboration of novelties in biological systems, heterogeneity of cells in the body and evolution of organs. If you cannot live without science – probably you should simply join us. We would like the person to be motivated to stay in our laboratory for at least 4 years.

Type of scholarship
Scholarships to pursue postdoctoral studies may be awarded to individuals who come from other
countries with the intention of remaining in Sweden only while obtaining all or part of their education.

The head of the department determines whether their previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish PhD or higher. Having received a salary or other remuneration from Karolinska Institutet during the past two years may be disqualifying.

This educational scholarship, which is paid for a maximum of two years within four years after the
receipt of a PhD or the equivalent, is tax-exempt. The non-taxable stipend for the first two years will be 20 000 SEK per month with an increase during the last two years. There will be a trial period of 6 months in order to see whether the expectations are fulfilled on both sides.

1. Curriculum vitae and qualifications, presented in accordance with Karolinska Institutet’s
qualifications portfolio (http://ki.se/meritportfolj )
2. A complete list of publications
3. A summary of current work (no more than one page)
4. Verifications for crediting of illness, military service, work for labour unions or student
organisations, parental leave or similar circumstances
5. Verification from the thesis defence committee or the equivalent (only if the thesis defence is scheduled within three months after the application deadline)
