Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Physiological Modelling

Grade 7: £29,837 - £36,661 p.a.

We are seeking a full-time postdoctoral research assistant to join Dr Stephen Payne’s research group at the Department of Engineering Science (Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Headington, Oxford). The post is funded by the EU under Framework 7 and is available from 14 April 2014 for a fixed-term to 31 March 2016.

This research project will develop models and a simulation environment for the modelling of cancer treatment, using a range of multi-scale models and computational tools within an open-source framework. You will be responsible for developing suitable models from the literature and implementing them within a computational environment such as CellML and FieldML such that other project partners can implement the models and perform detailed validation.

You should possess a PhD or equivalent experience in physiological modelling or other related area and have experience of numerical implementation of such models. You will be required to attend regular meetings across the (9 partner) consortium throughout the EU and to work closely with these partners in meeting the project deadlines.
