CLAFIS -Crop, Livestock and Forests Integrated System for Intelligent Automation, Processing and Control

Applications are invited for a three-year post-doctoral research post funded by the European Union under the FP7 Program. The research will investigate collaborative and collective technologies in farming. The project is in partnership with DTU in Denmark, Universitaet Linz in Austria, Aalto University Finland and commercial partners in farming, agricultural system development and farm management.

The wider project aims to develop software and hardware systems that bring together information and knowledge from people and automated systems across agriculture. We will investigate how to support the collection and re-use of information/knowledge in agriculture and forestry. The successful candidate will focus on developing and evaluating the interactions, which will allow individual farmers, professional support services, government departments and other stakeholders to create, share and use information.

Applicants should have a PhD in Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science Social Sciences with experience in modelling users’ activities and in the rapid participatory prototyping, development and evaluation of interactive systems.
