Job description
• Responsible for the establishment of mass spectrometry-based medium-throughput screening assays to detect enzymatic activity
• Application of non-denaturing mass spectrometry to study fragment and small molecule binding to pharmaceutically relevant proteins
• Support of several biomedical projects of the drug discovery process
• Close collaboration with colleagues from high-throughput screening, structural biology and oncology
• Involvement within the day-to-day MS research activities of Protein Technologies group

This is a fixed-term contract for two years.

Your qualifications
• PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related sciences
• Profound expertise in protein mass spectrometry along with extended hands-on experiences with LC/MS instrumentation (such as UPLC systems, orbitrap, triple-quadrupole and Q-TOF instruments)
• In-depth knowledge in non-denaturing mass spectrometry (native MS) and/or MS-based screening (RapidFire) will be highly advantageous
• Ability to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot a mass spectrometry platform
• Experience in proteomic techniques is a plus
• Knowledge in protein expression, purification and characterization of protein-ligand complexes are desirable
• Proven problem-solving ability and willingness to undertake challenging scientific tasks
• Competence to work and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent skills in written and spoken English…
