Description: We are seeking 1-2 motivated and creative applicants with quantitative research backgrounds in genetics/genomics to join an active and collegial research team, co-led by Drs. Wei Chen and Daniel Weeks. The work will involve developing statistical and computational methods for analyzing high-throughput data and leading statistical analysis for genetic studies of complex diseases. The postdoc will also have opportunities to collaborate with other researchers from Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and the Department of Human Genetics and Biostatistics at the Graduate School of Public Health. Drs. Wei Chen and Daniel Weeks will co- mentor the postdoc and provide highly supportive and dynamic environments to help in the transition to an independent researcher. The selected post-doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to become a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh, following successful completion of his/her training. 

Qualifications: The applicant should have a PhD degree in one of follow areas: Biostatistics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or other disciplines with strong quantitative backgrounds. Programming experience in statistical program R and scripting languages such as Perl/Python on Unix/Linux systems is required. Familiarity with C/C++ is a strong plus.
