The Faculty of Education and Health has a strong research culture that is varied and focuses on a wide range of issues, conducted in a variety of contexts and with a range of different participant. We also work with a number of external partners and are currently developing a social enterprise hub.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (PVC) is seeking a well-organised and proactive post-graduate to join the Faculty’s dynamic team conducting research that draws on access to education, health care, and social inclusion. You will work with other team members under the guidance of the PVC to conduct literature searches, prepare presentations of ongoing work and to support our research with external partners. The research will also include the use qualitative and quantitative techniques, such as conducting interviews/focus groups. Statistical knowledge, project management experience, and the ability to work effectively within a research team are essential.

You should have a Masters level qualification (or equivalent) in Research Methods and have a PhD in social sciences with an interest in Health or Education.

The successful applicant joining our team will be responsible for:

• Project managing existing research projects;
• Monitoring funding and ensuring outputs are completed to deadline;
• Preparation of research articles for publication, research reports, and oral presentations;
• Coordination and supervision of other research team members;
• Presentation of results at academic and non-academic conferences;
• Liaison with potential funders and collaborating organisations;
• Development and preparation of external funding bids.
