Description:
One postdoctoral fellowship (full-time position) is available at the group of "DNA repair Mechanisms and Cancer" at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg (https://www.dkfz.de/en/dna-reparaturmechanismen-krebs/index.php). Our group is interested in mechanisms that affect DNA replication fidelity with a main focus on DNA Mismatch Repair (MMR).

We have recently identified a novel mechanism that results in a partial loss of MMR function in S. cerevisiae. Future studies are aimed to unravel the molecular basis of this defect and to explore its potential link to cancer predisposition.

Your profile:
The candidate should have received a PhD degree (or expected to graduate within the next 6 months) in biology, biochemistry or biotechnology; but not graduated for longer than 2 years. The applicant should be highly motivated, ambitious with excellent English communication skills and a good publication track record with first-author publications (one mandatory). General expertise in cellular and molecular biology is essential; previous experience in the DNA repair/genome instability field is of advantage.
