in Cell Biology

Description:
The group for “Systems Biology of the Cellular Microenvironment ” at the Institute for Molecular Medicine and Cell research (IMMZ), University of Freiburg, Germany, is offering a postdoctoral position in the field of cell biology. The goal is to analyze the tumor-microenvironment in different cellular systems/tumor identities derived from biopsy and animal material. The position is part of the Freiburg site of the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK) and the SFB850 “Cancer invasion and Metastasis” and offering close interactions with medical doctors and systems biologists as well as access to the latest experimental and computational methods, high-throughput technologies and computer infrastructure. We offer a truly interdisciplinary research environment with experiment and theory within one group.

Your profile:
Highly motivated person with a scientific background in biology, biochemistry, biomedicine or related field working independently and pushing the experimental process
Background in cell culture of mammalian cells, biochemistry, molecular and cell biology techniques
Experience in cloning, transfection, siRNA and quantitative PCR

The position is limited to 2 years. The position can in principle be part-time.

The Translation Center is located in the premises of the Institute for Molecular Medicine and Cell research Freiburg.
