Postdoctoral Fellow in RNA Biology : Cambridge, MA, United States

Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research is the pharmaceutical research arm of a global healthcare company. We have several postdoctoral positions available in biology, chemistry, and computational sciences that provide excellent research training and exposure to drug discovery. Postdoctoral scholars have a unique opportunity to do research in an interdisciplinary scientific environment and publish their results in leading journals. The laboratory of Dr. Razvan Nutiu is currently seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position in RNAbiology. The major focus of our research is to interrogate the function and structure of RNA and RNA/protein complexes with small molecules. Our research covers several areas of RNA chemical biology, from understanding the basic mechanisms that govern RNA / small molecule interactions in vitro, to the modulation of post-transcriptional RNA regulation in human cells. The postdoc will have the opportunity to work at the interface of chemistry and biology along with a strong, interdisciplinary team of investigators, postdoctoral scholars, and academic collaborators. S/he will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including high-throughput screening, next-generation sequencing, genomics, structural biophysics, cell engineering, and computational chemistry/biology. The postdoc will be located in Cambridge, Massachusetts and have the opportunity to build a strong collaboration with the RNA Biology group led by Dr. Gerald Joyce at The Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation in La Jolla, California.

Qualifications: PhD degree holders, and PhD students within six months of completing their degrees, are eligible to apply. In-depth understanding of RNA biology or biochemistry is required. Experience with human cell-based RNA assays, high-throughput transcriptomics or chemical biology techniques is an advantage.
