Department of Education, 15 Norham Gardens Oxford

The Department of Education wishes to appoint a Research Fellow in the Oxford University Centre for Educational Assessment (OUCEA). The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s international research profile and will benefit from career development opportunities through teaching and supervision responsibilities.

The successful candidate will carry out high-quality psychometrics research in co-operation with colleagues in OUCEA, write funding applications for new research projects, lead research projects, supervise research assistants and manage research project budgets. S/he will carry out collaborative projects with colleagues in and across research groups and in other institutions. In addition to writing for publication, activities will include contributing to course design, teaching at Master's and DPhil level, supervising higher degree students and presenting at national and international research events.

You will hold a doctorate or equivalent in a relevant discipline. You will have specialist knowledge of the field of psychometrics, and of educational assessment research more widely, and demonstrate a strong record of publications in measurement. You will have experience of teaching at postgraduate level in psychometrics, theoretical and empirical research skills in psychological measurement and substantial expertise in the application of psychometrics and its associated theory and philosophy.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 36 months.

The post is based at the Department of Education in Norham Gardens Oxford and has been funded by a grant from the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance.
