Two postdoc positions : Gothenburg, Sweden

In kidney disease the filtration barrier function is disrupted and proteins leak out from the blood into the urine. There are few treatment options today for patients with kidney disease and therefore elucidating the mechanism behind the disease is crucial in order to develop new treatment therapies. At the Renal Research Center we aim at identifying mechanisms at several levels and compartments of the kidney filter and identify processes causing disruption of the kidney filter function. The techniques we use are numerous spanning from in vivo, in vitro, protein and molecular biology to identify small target molecules by the use of proteomics.

Our research groups are within the Renal Center at Sahlgrenska Academy, which consists of several renal scientists working close together. We are an international research environment with several collaborators worldwide. Some of our close collaborators include Harvard Medical School in Boston and University of Michigan in Ann Harbor, USA.

The postdoc projects will contribute to increase our knowledge mechanisms controlling the kidney filter function and eventually will result in identification of new treatment options for patients with renal disease.

We search for two highly motivated candidates with excellent skills in in vivo work, cell and molecular biology or proteomics. You should be open, a team player and engaged in all aspects of renal physiology and pathophysiology….
