Postdoctoral Scientist – Structural Studies
Starting Salary £28,007 to £30,791 per annum 
Band Salary £27,355 to £32,648 per annum

We seek to appoint a Postdoctoral Scientist to the Division of Structural Studies to undertake single particle electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM) analysis of multi-subunit complexes that regulate the cell cycle, specifically mitosis and cytokinesis. The project will also include electron cryo-tomography to investigate structures in situ. This position is located at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK within the group of David Barford.

The successful applicant will hold at least a PhD (or equivalent) in a biological/physical science. Experience with either single particle electron microscopy or electron cryo-tomography is essential. The project would suit a highly motivated and committed scientist interested in molecular mechanisms of the cell cycle.

The successful candidate will be awarded a three-year MRC Career Development Fellowship/MRCPostdoctoral Training Scheme, which is a training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline.
