Post-Doctoral Research Associate position in the laboratory of Kumuda Das, Ph.D in the Dept. of Anesthesiology at TTUHSC, Lubbock, TX.

Applications are invited for post-doctoral positions in the laboratory of Kumuda C. Das, PhD, Department of Anesthesiology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock, Texas. The area of investigation includes lung biochemistry, molecular biology and mitochondrial biology as it applies to hyperoxia-mediated lung injury. Novel transgenic mouse models are used to discover the effect of hyperoxia in mitochondrial signaling, bioenergetics and biochemistry.  Proven record of experience in molecular biology skills such as real time PCR analysis, cloning, reporter assays and cellular transfection studies are desirable. The ideal candidate will have outstanding publication record in the graduate or post-doctoral training period, and demonstrated skills in biochemistry and molecular biology. The post-doctoral associate is expected to work without supervision, analyze data, maintain accurate experimental record and write manuscript for publication. The ability to independently work in a research project is a plus. Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives based on project knowledge is a plus.  Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other research personnel in the lab and working in a team environment is expected.
