UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA, Post-Doctoral Fellow, Position #’s 00025908, 00027493, 00100646

Post-doctoral positions are available immediately to conduct research related to regulation of inflammation in acute (parasite, bacterial infection), neuroimmunology, and chronic inflammatory diseases (Sjögren’s syndrome, COPD). The work will require extensive utilization of both in-vitro and in-vivo models to study these areas. Experience in murine infection models is desirable. The work will entail handling mice for infection, isolation of organs, preparing primary cell cultures. Techniques utilized for the studies include molecular biology, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, mass spectroscopy analysis, and/ or advanced epigenetic techniques including ChIP-seq, RNA-Seq, short RNA libraries, and bioinformatics and data analysis, in addition to standard microbiological, immunological and biochemical techniques

In addition to conducting experiments related to multiple NIH funded grants, the duties of the positions will include reading and knowing the relevant literature, training new personnel in the laboratory, attending and presenting at scientific meetings, and writing drafts of manuscripts. The successful candidates will be required to work in collaboration with other researchers in and outside the lab.

Highly motivated, recent PhD graduates with experience and publications in the fields of molecular biology, immunology, infectious disease and/or biochemistry are encouraged to apply.
