The Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology at Meharry Medical College is looking for a post-doctoral fellow who is interested in studies involving chronic social stress and drug addiction from molecular and behavioral approaches. Anyone who is willing to establish a lab together with a new PI is welcomed, yet a candidate with strong background in behavioral or molecular neuroscience is preferred.

The Postdoctoral Fellow independently interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates research assignments. Formulates and conducts research on problems of considerable scope and complexity. Explores subject area and defines scope and selection of problems for investigation through conceptually related studies or series of projects of lesser scope. Experiences with behavioral neuroscience and/or neurochemistry are preferred.

A PhD or MD degree and minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience is required or 3-5 years directly related laboratory research experience. Publications required.

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, Meharry Medical College is the largest private, historically black institution exclusively dedicated to educating biomedical scientists and healthcare professionals in the United States. The institution is composed of the Schools of Dentistry, Graduate Studies and Medicine.
