Job Description
| Post-Doctoral Fellow/Research Associate positions are immediately available in Dr. Fei Sun's lab at Wayne State University for those who are prudent, and self-motivated to work on one of following two research projects: Protein degradation and pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis (CF) in a novel rabbit model. Protein degradation project focuses on the roles of ubiquitin E3 ligases on each checkpoint of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) maturation and CF animal model project emphasizes on the lung inflammation and infections, mucus accumulation, and fluid and ion secretion defects in the animal airways. Ph.D. in biomedical fields is required. Experience in biochemical and molecular biological methods, confocal microscopy, and rabbit handling/surgery is essential. The candidates are required to independently design and perform experiments, summarize and analyze data, present weekly progress report and prepare manuscripts for publication. The lab supports post-docs to get external funding, such as fellowship or research grants, for their career development. Salary is competitive.
