Division
Aging Research Center (ARC; http://ki-su-arc.se/) is one of the divisions at the NVSDepartment, but is located close to KI Campus-Nord in Stockholm. The psychology sector at Aging Research Center conducts research within the field of memory, cognition and brain imaging. A special emphasis is placed
on the identification of risk markers for cognitive deficits in old age.

Duties
A large part of the research within the psychology sector is conducted on data from The Swedish National Study on Aging and Care – Kungsholmen (SNAC-K), a population-based, longitudinal study on aging and health. The SNAC-K database includes information from a large cognitive test battery (including olfactory memory tests), biomarkers (such as gene polymorphisms), and structural brain
imaging data. The current postdoc plan involves structural brain correlates of olfactory performance in relation to genes, olfactory disorders, cognitive impairment, and dementia. Over the course of the postdoctoral appointment, the candidate will plan, analyze, structure, and report on results from the
current project. Within the project, there is also the possibility of international collaboration at European Universities with expertise within this field.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as postdoctoral research fellow if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc. It is considered favorable if the candidate has knowledge within the field of olfactory cognition and cognitive aging. Prior experience with population-based longitudinal databases and data modelling is also an advantage.
As a person, the candidate should be flexible, communicative and collaborative. Independence and strong motivation are expected throughout the project.
