Job Description
Two immediate positions available for ambitious Ph.Ds. under the direction of Robert E. Reiter, Bing Professor of Urology; Director, Prostate Cancer Program, Department of Urology, Institute of Urologic Oncology; Member, Molecular Biology Institute Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. First position is for a postdoctoral researcher with a background in basic and translational research with strong skills/knowledge in cancer biology, in vivo tumor models, functional genomics, and cellular and molecular biology. The ideal applicant will have expertise with utilizing data from genomic and transcriptomic analyses in describing gene function and interactions. Experience in genome editing (CRISPR/Cas9 technology) is preferred.
The second position is for a postdoctoral researcher with interest and/or experience in molecular imaging and molecular therapeutics using antibodies and antibody fragments for PET and optical imaging of prostate cancer. Position will enable significant cross-fertilization and collaboration with Dr. Anna Wu’s immunoPET imaging laboratory working on joint projects. Training will provide outstanding experience in translational research suitable for both academic and industry type positions in the long term. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in antibody development and engineering, animal work, and imaging (knowledge of IVIS and Maestro systems helpful).
Applicants must be highly motivated and have the ability to work independently with an excellent academic track-record, including first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals. A high degree of written and oral communication expertise in English is required.
