A position as postdoc is available in the Molecular Toxicology group. The group focuses on predicting and elucidating toxicological dynamics and kinetics characteristics of food contaminants and environmental chemicals.

Responsibilities and tasks
The research will focus on (i) development of Quantitative Structure Activity Relationships (QSAR) – computational models that are increasingly used as an important source of information to screen, prioritize and assess thousands of chemicals, and (ii) development of physiologically-based kinetic (PBK) models for predicting fetal exposure levels and metabolic fate of environmental chemicals in mammals.
You will be part of our existing QSAR team and in addition, be the primary person responsible for PBK modelling. The position consists primarily of research tasks, but some consultancy work to the authorities, as well as teaching, can be expected.

Qualifications
Ideally, the successful candidate holds a PhD in life sciences or another relevant scientific area, and preferably has experience with either QSAR or PBK modelling, or both.

A high motivation and drive for research combined with solid written and oral communication skills are prerequisites of any successful application. An interest to learn database handling and IT on a user level is essential.

Interest in research within computational modelling is essential, and documented knowledge of one or more of the following areas is a prerequisite: computational toxicology/pharmacology, toxicodynamics, toxicokinetics, reproductive toxicity, endocrinology, obesity.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.

• The position will be based at the Technical University of Denmark in Søborg and from spring 2017 at Lyngby Campus.
• The desired start date is as soon as possible.
• The period of employment is until the end of 2018
