We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Bin Zhou in the Department of Genetics of Albert Einstein College of Medicine to investigate a fundamental question: how heart and coronary artery form and function without an error (Nature, PMID: 20596014; Circulation Research, PMID: 21597012; Cell, PMID: 23178125; Development, PMID: 22300732). Our laboratory is addressing this question using mouse and embryonic stem cell models with a variety of techniques and methods including histopathology, developmental biology, mouse genetics, and high-throughput sequencing. The laboratory is located within the Price Center for Genetics and Translational Medicine, a state-of-the art biomedical research building. This position involves studies on the epigenetic regulation of heart development and regeneration. An ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. degree (in Cardiology, Developmental Biology or Stem Cell Biology) with a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology, and genetics. The candidates with prior experience in RNASeq, ChIPSeq, bisulfite pyrosequencing, and methylation specific real-time PCRs or CRISPR will be given preference. Knowledge with various bioinformatic and biostatistical analysis softwares will also be preferred. The candidate must possess excellent writing and communication skills, a solid record of peer-reviewed publications, and commitment to drive and complete scientific projects. 
The position is available immediately and for 3 years with the potential for extension. The salary will be offered based on experience and at the NIH level with additional health insurance and other benefits.
