The Postdoc Development Centre (PDC) at Imperial delivers exceptional development activities for our vitally important early career researchers, helping them to take the next step in their careers and ensuring that they have the necessary skills and abilities to do this. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive programme of personal and professional development opportunities to include training courses, individual consultations, mock interviews, cross-College events and publications.
This career opportunity promises to be varied and will utilise to the maximum your experience gained in roles such as a Learning and Development Specialist, Professional Development Manager, Development Professional, Senior Development Coordinator, Academic Development Consultant, Educational Consultant or similar. Your responsibilities will include:
Covering the work of the consultant, utilising the centre’s existing developmental approaches to support postdocs and fellows.
Working alongside the Head of the Centre to design, organise, deliver and evaluate skills and career development activities for postdocs and fellows across the College.
Co-ordinating and delivering the ‘just in time’ provision that the PDC offers in the form of short workshops
Organising and delivering individual consultations, mock interviews and a number of professional skills training courses.
You will possess experience of the higher education sector, a good understanding of the issues faced by early career researchers working in STEMM disciplines, experience of working with people to address professional issues, evidence of designing and delivering effective training, and the ability to work as part of a busy, close knit team.
