As part of the Leverhulme Trust research grant ‘On the public disclosure of bank supervisory assessments’ the Department of Accounting and Finance at LUMS seek to appoint a full-time research associate on a two-year fixed-term contract, with effective hire date of October 2017. You must have a PhD in Finance (or a related discipline), expertise in text mining (computational linguistics) and be able to program in Python or other text mining languages. Excellent candidates in all areas of Finance with expertise in text mining are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Accounting and Finance at Lancaster is one of the largest departments within LUMS - a world-ranked international business school that has consistently ranked among the UK's top ten universities for nearly two decades. In the latest Research Excellence Framework, LUMS was ranked first in the UK in research power and is one of few business schools whose programs are accredited by all three international business school accreditation bodies.
