A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Institute of Nanobiotechnology at Johns Hopkins University to develop wearable sensors for real-time measurement of ions in human sweat. Abnormal ion concentrations are associated with a number of medically important conditions including cystic fibrosis and pseudohypoaldosteronism. The sensors will be used in the diagnosis and clinical management of these medical conditions. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in the physical sciences or engineering with expertise in one or more of the following areas: microfabrication, microfluidics, instrumentation, interfacing, biophysics, or electrochemistry. All candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as a strong publication record. Candidates should preferably be US citizen or permanent resident.
