Investigating dynamic RNA and histone modifications in pluripotent embryonic stem

We are interested in the mechanisms of dynamic RNA plasticity / histone regulation and how these processes affect lineage choices. With recent pioneering work, the field of RNA regulation in pluripotency, differentiation and reprogramming is rapidly gaining momentum.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and determined individual who can work both independently as well as in a group setting. This post will focus on characterizing novel mechanisms for gene regulation and the identification of underlying genes and enzymes. The successful candidate is capable of conceptual thinking, is looking forward to learning new techniques, has good communication skills and is well organized. Knowledge of basic methods in molecular biology (cloning) and pluripotent embryonic stem cell (mouse/ human) culture is highly advantageous. Required is experience with at least one of the following areas or tools: Crispr-Cas9 based genetic engineering, Chip-Seq, PAR-CLIP, RIP-seq, RNA-seq, microRNA biology, inducible knock-down/ over-expression systems.

Potential candidates have completed (or are close to completing) a PhD degree in molecular biology or medicine, with one or several publications in internationally well-regarded, peer-reviewed scientific journals. Applicants with publications in press are also considered.
