The Suh Laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is actively seeking 3-4 highly motivated postdoctoral fellows interested in any of the following areas: (1) Genetics of Human Aging-Related Disease including Alzheimer's Disease. (2) Genome Maintenance/Cellular Senescence in Aging and Disease. (3) Computational and Bioinformatics Approaches to Human Aging and Disease.

Research focus: The Sub lab is interested in understanding genetic and molecular mechanisms that underlie the interface of intrinsic aging and disease in humans using functional genomics approaches. The lab focuses on discovery of functional variants in the human genome associated with age-related disease risk or its opposite, i.e., an unusual resistance to such disease, and investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying the genetic associations. To go from associations to mechanisms and translate this information into preventive or therapeutic strategies, the Suh lab utilizes the most contemporary genomic technologies and sophisticated genome engineering tools to generate genotype-specific genomic signatures and to investigate the functional impact on cellular outcomes relevant to aging, including senescence.

Lab expertise: The lab specializes in the analysis and integration of big human datasets to identify functional (epi)genetic variants and in genome engineering of human cell, including embryonic stem cells, to investigate the molecular mechanisms of candidate variants in culture and eventually in vivo in mice.

We are located in a pleasant residential area in the northeast corner of New York City with an easy commute to Manhattan and the suburbs of Westchester County. Ph.D. or M.D. or equivalent degree.

A record of publications from PhD or prior postdoctoral training work.

Prior training in stem cell, genetics, and molecular biology is preferred.

Prior experience in bioinformatics is highly desired.
