佐治亚州亚特兰大市乔治亚理工学院生物医学工程系的Philip J.Santangelo教授(https://pwp.ga tech.edu/Santangelo/)的实验室有两个博士后研究员职位和两个研究技术职位。

该项目的主要重点是开发成像生物标志物,通过全身PET-CT进行非侵入性监测:

Two postdoctoral fellowship positions and two research tech positions are available in the laboratory of Prof. Philip J. Santangelo (https://pwp.gatech.edu/santangelo/) at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA.

The major focus of the projects is to develop imaging biomarkers to non-invasively monitor via whole body PET-CT:

- Simian Immunodeficiency virus replication in infected non-human primates (NHP) in vivo during antiretroviral therapy and after its interruption. The goal is to identify sites of virus replication and rebound that will be biopsied and collected during necropsy to be subjected to microscopic analyses, and flow cytometry characterization of cells involved in the maintenance of the reservoir.

- the bio-distribution of mRNA-based vaccines and therapeutic molecules in mice and NHP. The goal is to identify sites of mRNA uptake and protein expression via PET/CT, near IR imaging, fluorecence confocal microscopy and IVIS and characterize the cell types involved in antigen expression via flow cytometry.

Post doctoral position qualifications: Ph.D., M.D. or MD/Ph.D. candidates with molecular imaging or Imaging Sciences background. The applicants should have a background in PET imaging of animal models, such as non-human primates and rodents, experience in the synthesis of radionuclide-labeled biomolecules and experience in analysis of PET data. Proficiency in using PET analysis software is an advantage.

Research tech qualifications: Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering/ Biology/ Biochemistry is preferable. Experience with RNA synthesis and/or radionuclide- labeling of nucleic acids/proteins is preferred but not required. This job requires candidates to be familiar and/or willing to be trained on needed research lab equipment, processes and practices. Skills in data organization, statistical analysis and use of statistical and scientific computer applications are preferred.

The successful candidates must be enthusiastic, cooperative, team-oriented, pay strict attention to details, keep industry-standard records and have good communication skills.

Salary for the positions is commensurate with experience and number of years since completing the higher level of education. Background investigation will be required. Closing date:open until filled
