Job Description

A postdoc position related to a project focused on synthetic bioactive macrocyclic peptides with anti-cancer activity.

Duration:12 months, starting 1/2-2021

Job description/research project/research area -Designing synthetic sequences to macrocyclic peptide derivatives -Conducting multi-step (>10) synthesis, final purification using a variety of techniques including preparative HPLC, and analysis of compounds (NMR, LC- MS/MS). -Drafting/assisting with patent applications. -Managing interactions with external CROs. -Representing the project towards external stakeholders

Your profile Academic:

PhD in organic chemistry with experience in complex molecule synthesis

Prior postdoc experience working with chemical synthesis of complex peptidederivatives

Prior experience with patent writing and IP

Personal:

Highly motivated, capable of individual problem-solving and project management.

Ability to interact constructively with other team members with different scientific competences, e.g. within cellular biology.

Ability+desire to mentor junior members of the lab.

Who are we / The department Research in the Poulsen lab is overall focused on the discovery of new targets/pathways involved in human disease. The work spans from mechanistic studies of bioactive small molecules to focused investigations of the biology of defined disease-related proteins. Application procedure Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. Formalities and salary range Natural Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The application must be in English and include a curriculum vitae, degree certificate, a complete list of publications, a statement of future research plans and information about research activities, teaching portfolio and verified information on previous teaching experience (if any).

Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Further information on qualification requirements and job content may be found in the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Danish Universities.

Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
