Applications are invited for the position of a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Single-cell Sequencing Analysis to join the Computational Biology and Single-cell Genomics team led by Dr Adam Cribbs at the Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), Oxford.

As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Single-cell Sequencing Analysis you will lead the computational analysis of several single-cell and spatial genomics datasets, as well as the development of long-read single-cell sequencing workflows and statistical frameworks. You will also, work closely with clinical and laboratory researchers to facilitate the design and execution of experiments, data sharing and writing of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, while communicating results in regular meetings, by poster and oral presentations at scientific meetings, or via other suitable means, and to act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group, training and supervise graduate and undergraduate students as appropriate.

It is essential that you have a successful track record with the statistical analysis and interpretation of complex genomic data sets, and hold a PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in a discipline of direct relevance to computational single cell genomics research (Statistics / Mathematics / Bioinformatics / Computational biology). You will have a passion for problem-solving and research in the areas of genomics and single-cell biology that is grounded in expert-level knowledge or experience, as well as strong competence with at least two programming languages (preferably the programming language Python and the statistical language R). Also, excellent organisational and project management skills, able to manage both time and records effectively. Also, having degree-level training in biological sciences/immunology or equivalent experience, and experience with the analysis of multi-modal genomics datasets, as well as a strong publication track record and experience of presenting work at meetings would be desirable.

This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 3 years.
