PostDoc in Algorithmic Model Reduction of Nonlinear Optimal Control Problems in Biology

Description

We are looking for a highly motivated PostDoc researcher in the area of mathematical modelling and formal methods. Research will also be in the area of optimality-preserving reduction of control networks and controlled chemical reaction networks. The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in computer science or mathematics and have a strong background in the area of optimality- preserving reductions of control networks and uncertain chemical reaction networks. A proven publication record in algebra and topology will be considered an asset.

You will work with Associate Professor Max Tschaikowski and be part of the DEIS group at the computer science department at Aalborg University. The candidate will be expected to perform independent research, collaborate with team members and help with the supervision of PhD and MSc students as appropriate.

Limited teaching within the area can be expected, but also in other study programes at the University.

Qualification requirements:

Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.

A current curriculum vitae.

Copies of relevant diplomas (Master of Science and PhD). On request you could be asked for an official English translation.

Scientific qualifications. A complete list of publications must be attached with an indication of the works the applicant wishes to be considered. You may attach up to 5 publications.

Dissemination qualifications, including participation on committees or boards, participation in organisations and the like.
